“In a general reflection on my art and life, I feel that the unconscious and conscious landscape hemispheres collide creating positive and negative tension within our lives. The unconscious has an existence of time immemorial within your myth, while our conscious life ego awakes daily to a fresh new day. So I question; How do we exist through these our entire lives, shaping us toward the past, present and future as one totality? In which way does the essence of it all give meaning to who we are and contribute to our interactions with each other, our earth and universe?

It has been a lifelong search and journey revealing my art through these philosophical and psychological constructs. Art that coexists and works in conjunction with these constructs and with each other:

painting, music, poetry, photography, film and narrative. The landscape hemispheres and archetypes create new paths to follow and show themselves as personal empirical motifs within the art abstractly. They prove to be part of the memory, dream, reflection symbiosis. It is all much a mystery and interesting pursuit.”

Ashley Bilodeau – Returning Artist

April 3, 2017 By Gallery 444

Ashley Bilodeau at Gallery 444 PTown

Opening on Friday night.

Ashley Bilodeau

About the Artist

Ashley Paige Bilodeau is a self-taught, natural-light photographer who was born and raised on Cape Cod. She is best known for capturing the natural beauty of the Cape & Islands in her minimalist photography collections. Select images can be found on view in her gallery on Main Street Chatham, ‘All Points Beautiful.’ Additionally she has established a name for herself in the New England yoga and outdoor industries.

Ashley has been an artist since before she could walk, always inspired to capture the intrinsic beauty of her coastal hometown. She recalls taking photographs with a disposable camera at the young age of twelve. She later fell in-love with developing film. She built an in-home dark room while living in Vermont in her early twenties. Prior to opening her gallery, she worked in the action sports industry. She remembers excitedly picking up a digital camera at the age of 20 and feeling like everything in her life had aligned, she booked her first job in action sports the following week. Her focus shifted to yoga photography upon completing her first 200hr yoga training in power yoga. In curating the perfect backdrops for her yoga clients, she quickly realized it was the organic landscapes she was most drawn to. Today, taking photos is not only her livelihood, but also her meditation.

“My work is inspired by how I see the world. Part of my process is finding the right time to shoot. Not only from an aesthetic/lighting stand point but also just being aware of how I feel while shooting, I need to be in the right headspace.. I try to shoot when I don’t have any heavy feelings inside of me. I want to convey the world as I see it, visually, not as I feel it or perceive it. I believe this really translates into my work. The images have no attachment to my emotions. I can let them go and be whole heartedly enjoyed and appreciated by my clients for their beauty alone.” – Ashley Bilodeau

Heather Buechler – Returning Artist

April 3, 2017 By Gallery 444

Heather Buechler at Gallery 444 PTown

Opening on Friday night.

Artist Bio

Award winning painter Heather Buechler creates vibrant abstract art that inspires creativity and calm. Her acrylic paintings are layered and scraped to create three-dimensionality. She paints on a variety of media, including canvas and wood.

Passionate about creating art that is beautiful and meaningful for her viewers, Heather meditates before beginning each work. She practices Buddhism and Reiki, which helps center her art.

Heather maintains a studio in Boston’s South End, where she participates in First Friday and  SOWA Sunday events and shows her work by appointment. She believes in supporting women and other underrepresented artists.

Visit News and Exhibitions to find out where we’re showing.

At first glance, my art appears to be merely abstract, but upon careful visual interaction with it , one cannot help but feel the soothing peacefulness that emanates from the canvas. This feeling isn’t coincidental–it is intentionally crafted and it is the force behind my work. On a rudimentary level, my work is about beauty, truth, and connectivity.

–Heather Buechler

Heather is available by appointment at Studio 215, 450 Harrison Ave,  Boston.

Denny Camino

Denny Camino at Gallery 444 PTown

Opening on Friday night.

I paint because I am compelled to. I have a primitive compulsion to create paintings. My paintings are influenced by my walks that I take every day on the Cape. They represent internal as well as external landscapes that exist within and around us all. These paintings are not a horizon line but rather a section of a circle. Like life, they are infinite. I reduced the shapes down to fields of color. I use a push/pull method of design as a means of expression. I also created a series of acrylic paintings. For these, I let the paintings take me where they wanted to go.

Aline Lindemann

Aline Lindemann is an artist, writer and small business owner who thinks of herself as somewhat of a chameleon. Aline grew up in Wisconsin nears the shores of Lake Michigan, lived many years in Arizona where she and her husband raised their three children, and now calls Cape Cod home. She is also an avid traveler.

Some of Aline’s most treasured mementos from her moves and travels (stones, shells, feathers and found objects) serve as inspiration for her still life sketches, and other finds gleaned from flea markets and vintage shops make their way into her mixed media pieces; scraps of wallpaper, French maps, children’s book illustrations and vintage textbooks are an irresistible part of her process.

Each drawing, painting, assemblage or collage that Aline creates is a curated combination of materials and mark making that celebrates nature and beauty through unexpected and pleasing compositions.
